Counseling for Christians

healing with and through faith

You are in the world, but not of it. And you want your therapy journey to include your Christian beliefs.

I provide Christian counseling services which are in alignment with biblical scripture and which depend on the teachings of Christ. I am here to help you lean on God as He works to heal your wounds. My aspiration during our time together is that you will come to discover a renewed hope through the Lord. Because we know all things are possible with God and His wisdom is always what will best serve us.

If you’re a Christian, it’s possible you’ve been hesitant to seek out therapy for yourself. You might fear meeting with a therapist who will seek to impose worldy secular views on you that are the opposite of your belief system. Or, you might expect to be shamed or judged for your beliefs as it seems so many in the world today embrace teachings and understandings which are opposed to what the bible tells us. These are very valid and real concerns. You are right to be cautious and discerning. Not all providers rely on biblical principles or on God. And yes, some are unfortunately not very faith friendly. Also, some will, in fact, offer guidance which opposes your biblical worldview - which certainly won’t feel right or useful to you. It’s valid to fear being offered suggestions which will potentially move you away from God, and it’s a legitimate concern to worry about whether or not you can comfortably share your faith-based views and beliefs in the therapy room if the therapist embraces an alternate system of ideas. You want to be sure you’ll be heard, understood, and accepted. You want to know your therapist “gets” you and will know how to help you follow God’s word.

I want you to know that there is an option for you! I provide Christian, faith-based care which aligns with your beliefs. I believe therapy works especially well when it’s you, myself, and God partnering together for healing. Jesus belongs on your care team and I am here to invite Him into the room with us. The best care is the care which turns to and relies on the wisdom of God.

You know therapy will involve clarifying goals, and getting clear on where you want to go.

But you know you need God to be with you on that journey.

For you cannot do it alone.

And you want your therapist to accept this perspective and be supportive of your desire to not do it yourself - but to do it with and through God.

What we can work on in Christian Therapy:

  • Improving your connection to God.

  • Understanding how you might live out your values in your life.

  • Enhancing your faith and spiritual journey.
